Why humanism?

Bringing people together

Is a humanist ceremony your perfect fit?

If you are looking for a truly meaningful and personalised ceremony that isn’t religious and that is warm and welcoming for all your guests (including those with a faith), then a Humanist ceremony may be right for you.

LET’S FIND OUT MORE …

Ceremonies for everyone

Humanist ceremonies are non-religious ceremonies. They give people the opportunity to make thoughtful, positive choices about life’s most significant moments. They are warm, welcoming, special and inclusive. Because we are all human. And we all have stories. A humanist ceremony brings our human values to life. They are the longest standing form of non-religious ceremony – marking big life events since 1896.

The humanist approach is a brilliant ceremony alternative for people seeking something more individual. I work with you to help you pick and choose which things you would like to include on the day, from traditional rituals to any promises you would like to make or memories you would like included. Of course, not forgetting that a humanist ceremony can be anywhere you’d like, as long as you have the landowner's permission.

About humanism

Humanists lead lives based on the here and now, taking responsibility for our own happiness and the world around us.

If you want to find out more about humanism and why it could be the perfect fit for your ceremony – take a look at this lovely video, narrated by Stephen Fry.

“ Humanism is important – it’s a world view that allows you to go about your business making ethical choices based on a desire to do the most possible good.”

Tim Minchin

“ Humanism inspires a lot of enthusiasm for everyday life and urges people to be better to one another.”

Stephen Fry
